Week of New's

The week finally came.  I tell you what...I just wasn't sure it ever would:)

Both boys enjoy school so far.  They biked today and they did great!  Made it there safe...I went to check & home in time enough.  I kept checking out the door every 2 min. wondering if I should go look for them and rescue them.  It was pretty darn hot today.  They were wiped out.  I'm hoping for some sleep in time tom am:)

Ella loves preschool.  Pretty sure she'd go every day if I could afford it.  Sheesh, it's expensive.  We pay $140/month for just T/Th 9-12.  Have no idea what 5 day is.  She asks every day if it's preschool.

Kevin worked 13 hours today. I'm sure in some parts of the world or down the street that is normal.  However, we are used to less.  He was wiped out.  Left at 6am, home at 730pm...too long.
Needs to hire 2 more people.  Hoping for that to come soon.
There is MUCH to be done at the house that only he can do.
Really needing him to get a week off in October so we can both take a break-he has a dove hunt and I have a work trip & multiple house projects:)  Which may/may not include hanging pictures on the wall & getting rid of some furniture.

I ask Brody what he's learning and he says...everything I already know.
Hmm, I'm onto that.  Do NOT need that kiddo bored.

Thatcher is challenged enough with the new.  GT (gifted & talented) may be an option for him here.
Not real fond of the name.  And they bus them across town M and T for classes there.  I was much more keen of him going down the hall for his time.  We'll see.  Praying about all that.

The PTA has meetings at 8am.  Far too early for this chickadee.
And you have to pay to be a part.  To volunteer.  It confuses me.

Missing the familiar faces, the ease of conversation, the joy of laughing til my belly hurts.
Those are totally gifts of life.  But the new is a gift too.  The unknown can be sweet.
And He meets me there too.  He gives me energy to make a life and a home here.

Took single mama neighbor banana bread...she was thankful and it made my heart smile:)
She is a beautiful lady and I look forward to seeing what God wants me to learn from her.

Not going to do a mom's group this fall.  Not real sure how I feel about it either.

Random thoughts from this week of lotsa new:)

Quite Possibly the Perfect Day

Tuesday, Aug 28, 2012
Today was maybe just the perfect day on earth.  No really:)
Boys dropped off to school quick and then Ella to preschool.
Had a newborn photo shoot...easy mom, for the most part easy 8 week old baby girl.
Fun to be back behind the camera!

Hang time with Barrett.
Lunch with 2 lils at Bueno.
Met Mr. John from Melissa, TX.  Could've chatted with him all day.
It was his wife's bday and he had an eye appt so he was in town.
Lived in the country with his 3 out of the 4 kids.
He HATES sour cream....funny.
He told me about his life here and there.  I tell you it was fun:)

Nap time for Barrett....3 hours.
Neighbor sat here while I got boys...8 minutes flat...one for the record books:)
Chilled for the afternoon, chatted with bigs.  Good school day.
Boys played computer for 45....I napped.

Sandwiches/chips for dinner....headed to fball practice.
Dropped T, then to library to pick up cool books on hold & dvd's.
Back to practice and to the nearby park.
Met Mr. Tom who is a Dr. and his 1st grade daughter.
He's traveled and was interesting.
He was easy, pleasant and just a nice convo.
We ended the convo and introduced ourselves.  The park we were at is named after him.  No joke.
Would never have know otherwise....

Headed home for baths, listening to Kev's laughter and the quiet of kids sleeping.

Yep, a perfect day, fab conversations with 2 complete strangers somehow made a most normal day, perfect.  I have realized that about myself.  I LOVE people.
Meeting new people and a REAL convo is the best gift ever.
I mean besides Jesus Himself bc that would be the very best:)  Had to clarify.

Firsts:)

It was a week of just that....lots of firsts:)  4th, 1st, pre-K...here we go!!  All the kids have had a good first and second day so far!  Super thankful for that!

I LOVE first day pics....and it does remind me how very quick it all goes:)

Huskinson's Came to Town

Visit from some good friends last week!!  We have 8 kids between us, so it was a bit of a circus!
My boys were so happy to have some friends to play with and wrestle and laugh:)

It was fun to chat with Kathy too of course!  She has been a friend since the newlywed days:)

Checkmate:)!!!

Saw a sign on the side of the road...no. joke.
Last minute chess tournament for Thatcher!  He had a ball:)

And one boy from his football team was there....God's cool like that!
Brody got to play as a 'house player' twice and lost both.

Thatcher went 1-1-2 for the day, not too shabby!!
